Amorgos Island
Amorgos is the easternmost Cycladic island located between the islands of Naxos and Astypalea. It is long and narrow, with sheer and steep mountains. It has two ports, Katapola and Aegiali, and the main town is the picturesque village of Chora.
Amorgos is still an unspoiled island, where traditional customs exist in everyday life. The breathtaking scenery is full of beautiful trails, flowers and herbs. Here you will find ancient culture, outdoor recreation and hospitality in a relaxing atmosphere.
The island has plenty of nice beaches, sandy or rocky, all with crystal clear waters.
In the bay of Aegiali you have the beaches of Aegiali, Levrossos, Psili Ammos and Hohlakas. Near Katapola you will find the beaches of Agios Panteleimon, Maltese, Plakes, Agia Saranda and Finekes. On the east side of Amorgos and close to Chora, there is the famous beach of Agia Anna, where part of the movie “The big blue” was filmed. In the south of the island are the Mouros, Kalotaritissa and Paradise beaches. You can also visit the islands of Nikouria and Gramvousa, both accessible by shuttle boat during the summer.

In Aegiali bay it’s worth visiting the mountain villages Langada, Tholaria and Potamos. In the south are the villages Vroutsi, Arkesini, Kolofana and Kamari. You can also stroll around in Katapola bay, to see the villages of Xylokeratidi and Rahidi.

Do not forget to taste the traditional flavors of our island like patatato,fava, local sweets and the traditional liqueur “Psimeni Raki”.
